Adrienne Prisk

April 11, 1930 — June 9, 2014

Adrienne (Dee Dee) Prisk, 84, died Monday, June 9, 2014, after living with cancer for the past 7 years. Born, April 11, 1930, she was the daughter of Mildred and Edward Lahay of Virginia, MN. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948 and went on to attend St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, MN. She graduated in 1952 with degrees in Sociology, Psycology, and Philosophy. After collage she was a social worker for St. Louis County for 3 years. She married Emmery James Prisk in 1953 and moved to Duluth in 1958 where they raised three children. In 1969 she went back to work as a credit union manager for U.S. Steel and D.M. & I.R. for 16 years.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church for more than 60 Years. Her many church activities included; C.C.D. teacher, working for funeral receptions, and finance chairperson.

Her proudest achievement was her volunteer work for the Benedictine Health Center receiving the Volunteer of the Year award in 2003. Dee Dee volunteered at the Health Center for 26 years and was affectionately known as the "Popcorn Lady" as she sold popcorn to the patients there and the St. Scholastica College students. She belonged to their auxiliary of the 26 years.

Dee Dee was also an avid animal lover, especially cats, caring for many over her 84 years.

Adrienne is survived by her husband Emmery, celebrating 61 years of marriage; daughter Mary (Marty) Bush and their son Jared; daughter Susan Flaherty and her children Katie, Allyson, Shannon, and Keegan; son, James (Deanne) Prisk and their children Alex, Garrett , and Dawson; her brother Robert (Gertrude) Lahay and foster sisters, Alice (Jim) Baxter and Deceased Olga (Frank) Gorichar as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends

Service is 11AM, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E 4th St, Duluth, MN 55812, with a visitation one hour prior
