Anastasios (Tas) Glitsos, 61, of Duluth, passed away on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Anastasios Glitsos was born July 19, 1950 in Nea Karya, Greece, the son of Stavros and Susanna (Platis) Glitsos. He grew up in Greece, became a master carpenter and served in the Greek Military. He moved to Duluth, in 1974, where he met his wife Patricia. For 23 years Anastasios worked as a press operator at Superwood, Union Local 7-776. He was also a member of Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church. Anastasios was a generous and kindhearted, wonderfully stubborn man who enjoyed carpentry, gardening, cooking, and fishing with his children in the waters of his native Greek Island. A patient man, he always found time to educate the general populace on topics such as politics, what-not-to-do, and the privilege of being Greek. He was preceded in death by his father, Stavros, and sister, Maria. He is survived by his mother, Susanna of Greece; wife, Patricia Glitsos (Haburt) of Duluth; sons, Marios, Markos, Marinos (Sarah) of Duluth; daughter, Mariana of Duluth; brothers, Kyriakos (Maria) of Greece, Panagiotis (Jamie) of Hermantown; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces in the United States and Greece and many special friends and honorary grandson Aiden. VISITATION: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Street, Duluth, with Trisagion Prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 in Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 632 East Second Street, Duluth. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth.
