Angeline D. Broska, age 93, God embraced her to heaven on Monday October 23, 2017 from Essentia Health, Duluth, MN. She was born on July 5, 1924 to the late Frank and Hermina Lovshin in Duluth, MN. As a child, Angie enjoyed 5cent cowboy matinees at the NorShor Theater, roller-skating, snow shoveling, laundry, babysitting, and playing games. In 1947 she was licensed to run the passenger elevator at Miller Dwan Hospital along with dietary for seven years before marrying Joseph J. Broska in 1950. She was a member and secretary at Sacred Heart Church and St. Mary’s Star of the Sea parishioner. Angeline was very enlightened to be known as “Grandma B” to her longtime dear friend Thomas Bersells 2nd grade class at Franklin school. She traveled to Oregon and Seattle by train. She loved her family and friends dearly, shopping, photos, politics, get-togethers, and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by daughter Joyce Broska, granddaughter Angela Broska-Smith, parents, husband, brothers Frank and Edward Lovshin, sisters Ludmilla Lovshin and Delores (Robert) Nordland.
She is survived by her children Kathleen Varela, William (Jean) Broska, Nancy (David) Paaso, David Broska (Lynn), Julie Broska, and Daniel Broska, sister Martha Kent, 15 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
