Ann Johnson

Ann Marie Johnson The soul of Ann Marie Johnson (64) left her aching, failing body

on the afternoon of Friday, July 22. She passed away peacefully, in St. Luke's

I.C.U., with family by her side. Ann Marie was born on November 17, 1951 in

Duluth, Minnesota. She was a 1969 graduate of Duluth East High. In 1972

she graduated as an R.N. from St. Luke's School of Nursing. Being a nurse was a

career path she chose for herself when she was a little girl, and she followed it

until her retirement as a nursing supervisor at the Chris Jensen nursing

home. She loved cats & dogs, music, camping, and simply being with her

family. Ann is preceded in death by her mom Virginia (in April), her dad Harry

Johnson, and her former husband, Frank Pedersen. (In the late 1970's and 1980's

Ann and Frank owned and operated the Breeze Inn on Jean Duluth Road.) She is

survived by her brother Dave (Gail) Johnson, of Duluth. Our heartfelt thanks

to the generous, caring staff of St. Luke's I.C.U. and to Dr. John Van Etta. By Ann's

request there will be no memorial service. As she asked, just hug a dog...

Far better yet, hug a nurse.
