Anna (Dunne) Bjork, formerly of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 89, one month shy of her 90 th Birthday, at the North Shore Living Care Center in Grand Marais, Minnesota. In her grandparent’s home in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Anna was born November 22, 1931 to James and Anna Dunne and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Anna married Herbert (Herb) Bjork and together raised three beautiful girls, Sue, Claudia and Greta. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren were blessed to call Anna their Grandma and GG, all of whom she was very proud of. Each one was her “favorite” depending on who she was spending time with. Anna enjoyed knitting, her religious upbringing, reading, baking, chocolate, crafting, canning, her gorgeous peonies, a good sale and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her quick wit, kindness and sense of humor, her beautiful natural black hair and her amazing talents in the kitchen. She was a member of Y Wives, a Girl Scout Leader, a Cashier in the Registrar’s office at UMD (where she received an Outstanding Staff Award voted on by the student body), and enjoyed playing Bridge. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Herbert (Herb), her parents, her four siblings, Arthur (Art) Dunne, Marion Snyder, Suzanne (Sue) Protz and James (Jimmy) Dunne, along with her Aunt and Best Friend Mary Liddell. She is survived by her daughters: Sue Nordman, Claudia Bjork and Greta (Geoff) Gruba. Grandchildren Andrea (Tom), Carah, Jaala (Chris), Roselle, Alec (Karrah), Brennan, Ethan and eight great-grandchildren, Teraun, Samantha, Charles, Tucker, Brookstyn, Kambrie, Kael and Francesca (Frankie). Also, special niece Julie Douglas of Houston, Texas and many other nieces and nephews. Anna is beyond missed by her family and friends and we will forever cherish the memories.
