Anthony Kosmerl

June 20, 1924 — December 2, 2014

Anthony L. "Tony" Kosmerl, 90, of Glenwood Street, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday December 2, 2014, in Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Chisholm, MN on June 20, 1924 to Louis and Mary Kosmerl. As a child Tony enjoyed putting model airplanes together. He also completed his Eagle Scout. Tony was a WWII Army veteran in the Rainbow Division receiving a Bronze Star. He worked for the Aslesen's Company for many years retiring as a salesman and branch manager of the Duluth store. A favorite pastime for Tony was entering sweepstakes, he won many prizes and would discuss this with family and friends at length. Tony also started an investment group called "Go for Broke" Gopher Investment Club. He was President of AARP Chapter 419. Tony was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and an usher there no matter what the weather. He loved to fly, especially to Las Vegas to see his sons and daughter-in-laws.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, son Mark, and brother Edward.

Tony is survived by his children Judi McNeally, Karen (Arlen) Bordenkircher both of Duluth, and Greg (Pam) of Las Vegas NV, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday December 6, 2014 from 1PM until the 2PM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd Street. 218-727-3555. Military Honors will be Accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.
