Barbara Myra Suech, 78 of Duluth and formerly of Hibbing, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Benedictine Health Center Duluth. Barb was living with a debilitating lung disease that caused her world to shrink, as she became less able to do things she loved to do. She bore her illness with dignity and grace.
Barb was born on April 4, 1935 in Duluth to Myra and Ernest Suech. She graduated from East Jr, and then East Sr. High School in 1953 and UMD in 1957. She studied two summers at Bemidji St. She taught kindergarten and 1st grade 38 years in Hibbing. She was a life member of Alfa Delta Kappa and Kappa Gamma Honorary Teacher Society.
Barb was a member of Jesus Light of The World Group. She was active the Pregnancy Life Care Center and the Blessed Sacrament Funeral Lunch Group, and she also taught catechism. In Duluth, Barb was a member of St. Michael's Church.
Barb loved her God, her family and her many fiends and the children she taught and music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myra and Ernest.
Barb is survived by her brother, Richard Suech of New Hampshire; four nephews, Derek (Julie) Suech, Stephen (Danelle) Suech, Michael (Tina) Suech and Connor Suech; several great nieces, nephews, cousin and many friends.
Visitation will be Monday beginning at 12:30pm with Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm at St. Michael's Church, 4901 E Superior St. Duluth. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
