Beatrice Hietala

Beatrice Joyce Hietala, 91, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday June 29, 2019 at Chris Jensen Health & Rehab, with family by her side.  She was born in Duluth on January 24, 1928 to George and Martha Knutson.  Beatrice was a graduate of Duluth Central High School, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Beatrice volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years, was a member of the Lakeshore Lutheran Home Axillary, and Reach for Recovery. She liked sewing, traveling, and taking bus tours with her late husband Les. She especially enjoyed taking friends and family out for lunch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leslie Hietala, and a son David.

She is survived by her daughter Penny (Patrick) Wilmers, son Donald Hietala, granddaughters Nikita (Matt Bergstrom), Hannah, and Serena Wilmers, grandsons Neil, Aaron, and Brett Hietala, special friends Robbin Tuominen and June Marana and her extended family.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 15, 2019 from 5PM until the 6PM Memorial Service in Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  218-727-3555.  Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery.
