Beatrice Marie (Forsberg) Simonson, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning,
July 23, 2021. We are rejoicing that she now has a new body and a renewed mind, after a long journey of Dementia and Arthritis.
She was born in Duluth, November 19, 1931 to Carl Oscar and Ane Sophie (Peterson) Forsberg.
Bea was a graduate of Duluth Central High School. She married Clifford Simonson on September 11, 1954. She was a secretary at Arnold Elementary School, and later at the St. Louis County Schools Office.
She attended Mt. of Olives Baptist Church in her later years.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, cross-stitch, and many years participating in Community Bible Study (CBS). She had the rare gift of meeting with friends she had known since childhood, playing Blitz (card game) with them monthly. And a good game of Cribbage with family. She also participated in Community Volleyball for many years – they were often the champs.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff (2016); her parents; siblings Evelyn Forsberg, Harold Forsberg, Charles Forsberg, Vernon Forsberg, Anne Borg Hines.
She is survived by her children: Janice (Alan) Ihrke of Duluth, Steven (Carol) Simonson of Troy, Montana, and Erik (Holly) Simonson; six grandchildren, Leah Erickson, Jenna and Megan Simonson, Amy (James) Marriott, Arlen Ihrke, Andrew (Sarah) Ihrke; one great-grandchild Makenna Erickson; her sister Lillian Christensen of Mamaroneck, NY, brother-in-law Gordon (Audrey) Simonson, and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to St. Luke’s Hospice and a special thank you to the staff at Diamond Willow Lester Park for their care, and loving on mom so well these last months.
