Bernhardt Schulz

Bernhardt "Ben" Schulz, 85, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Suncoast Hospice House Brookside in Palm Harbor, FL. He was born in Winona, MN on October 5, 1930 to Bernhardt J. Schulz and Edna A. (Wischow) Schulz. He grew up and attended schools in Mora, MN and graduated from Mora High School in 1949.
Ben served his Country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea from 1949-1953. After his military service, he worked for North Western Bell and AT&T until his retirement in 1989. Ben was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mora, The Scottish Rite Bodies of Duluth, and the Zuhrah Shrine of Minneapolis.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, his life partner of 53 years William "Bill" Fawcett, great niece's Libby Archer and Erin Royal, Sister-in-law Elnora McNaughton. .
He is survived by his niece's Rita Fawcett, Diana and David Royal of Duluth, great nephew's Kyle Fawcett of Colorado Springs, CO, Jake (Alexandria Corbett) Royal of Minneapolis MN, his brothers and their families, Edward Schulz of Oxnard, CA and Richard (Jean) of Medical Lake, WA, dear friend's Darrell Kerbo and, Lisa and Sean Herndon of Dunedin, FL.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dani Mathew and his Staff at Dunedin Primary Care for their compassionate care over the years, and his Personal Care Assistant Jamil, for the outstanding compassionate care given over the last few months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice House Brookside, 164 W. Lake Rd, Palm Harbor, FL 34684.
Visitation will be 1:30PM with the funeral service at 2PM, Friday, January 22, 2016 in the Forest Hill Cemetery Chapel, 2516 Woodland Ave, Duluth, MN 55803
