Bernice Beret Mae Pederson, age 94 of Duluth, passed away September 20, 2022 at Edgewood Vista, Hermantown, MN. Visitation will be on the 27th of September from 12:30 – 1:00 P.M. with a service following at 1 P.M. at first Lutheran Church, 1100 E. Superior St. Duluth, MN
Bernice was born January 8. 1928 in Duluth. She was the daughter of Erik Edward and Beret Mae Anderson, and life long member of First Lutheran Church. Bernice grew up in Duluth and on October 6, 1949, she and Kenneth Pederson were married. She studied shorthand and worked as a secretary until she and Ken had their two sons. At that time, she became a professional homemaker. Bernice became proficient at this job and earned a Master’s degree in cooking, baking, and child care. In addition, she volunteered her time for 30 years at Miller Dwan Hospital. She enjoyed participating in volleyball, softball, golf, snowmobiling, and camping. Bernice was a member of the Leah Circle at church. Bernice and Ken enjoyed also enjoyed traveling and learning about the countries and the cultures they visited. She was a quiet person, and a friend to all with a heart full of love. Her granddaughter and great-granddaughters brought her great happiness.
Bernice is survived by two sons, Robert (Diana), and James; granddaughter, Leah Pederson (friend Matthew Brown); great-granddaughters, Hayley Pederson; and Briella Brown, brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Sharon Pederson; plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erik Edward and Beret Mae Anderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Palmer and Geraldine, husband, Kenneth Pederson; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Donald Leslie. Bernice will be interred at Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth, MN. Blessed be her memory.
