Bernice Ethel Rose, 92, of Duluth, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
Bernice was born in Duluth, on November 21, 1924, to Oscar and Esther Ronning, she graduated from Proctor High School. After high school, she held a variety of jobs to get thru the depression. She was with St. Mary’s coffee shop for 21 years, starting as a volunteer, progressing to manager, retiring and then becoming a volunteer again.
She belonged to Women’s International Bowling Association, American Cribbage Congress, New Agers Lakewood, 55 Plus, and Homemakers Club.
Bernice enjoyed picking berries, fishing, playing cards (especially cribbage), baking sweet treats, and most importantly spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Norman; parents; brother, Johnny; and great-great-grandson, Jarell.
Bernice is survived by children, Ron (Gail), Margaret (Fred) Ciccone, Roger (Bonnie), Marlene (Tom) Rose; brother, Dick (Merlejean); sister, Alyce (Don) Bodin; grandchildren, Jeff, RonniAnne, Carrissa, Michael, Tony, Nicholas, Jaclyn, Kaylee, Nathan, Mathew, and Jenny; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Service will be 2PM Saturday, December 17, 2016 with visitation one-hour prior in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 E 8th St, Duluth, MN 55805.
