Bernice Wollak

Bernice Schlichting Wollak, formerly of Duluth, died Saturday, Dec. 14th , in her home, with her family by her side.   Born September 29th, 1927 in Royalton, Minnesota Bernice was the daughter of Isidore and Rose (Janski) Schlichting. She graduated from Royalton High School and married Claude A. Wollak in Royalton in 1947. She lived in Providence, R.I. until 1950 and then moved to Duluth, Minnesota.  Work included a number of years at Duluth Athletic Club and Marshall School.  She was an attendee of St. Joseph’s Church in Duluth Heights, a member of St. Joseph’s Plus 55 Club and Ladies Club.

Bernice’s hobbies included crocheting, knitting, playing cards, fishing, and traveling. Bernice loved family gatherings in Minnesota and around the country.   The family wishes to thank Hospice for their care and support of Bernice and the family.

Preceded in death by parents, brothers Alfred, Anthony, Joseph, Cyril; sisters Isabel, Loretta, Rose, Margaret, Theresia, Regina, Evelyn, and many nieces and nephews.

Survived by her loving husband of 72 years,  Claude of Mahtomedi, MN; sons Norbert (Terri) Wollak, Citrus Heights, CA; Ronald, Mariposa, CA; Robert (Barb) Wollak, Minneapolis; Gerard (Cathy) Wollak, Marstons Mills, MA; Deborah (Mark) Steiner, St. Paul, MN; and eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held for 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Friday December 20, 2019.  2410 Morris Thomas Rd.
