Beryl Florence Marsolek, 96, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Duluth. She was born in Salisbury, England on December 16, 1920 to Harry and Florence Mortimer. She met her husband Jerry at a dance in England while he was stationed there during WWII in the U.S. Army, they were married at the end of the war and she travelled to the U.S as a British War Bride. Beryl was a member of the Duluth Elks Lodge. She had volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital. Beryl enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, a good cup of tea, time spent at the family cabin, traveling especially to England. She loved her pets, and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beryl was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerome, sister Evelyn, and a brother John.
Beryl is survived by her children Lorraine (Justin) Michalski, David Marsolek, and Brian (Andrea) Marsolek, grandchildren Heather Marsolek, Justin (Tiffany) Michalski III, Sarah Boyce, Seth (Amber) Marsolek, and Luke (Sara) Marsolek, a special sister-in-law Irene Cameron, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Dr. Spears, Dr. Capps, and to the staff at Diamond Willow, Lester River.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 from Noon until the 1PM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555.
