Betty Tomesch

July 28, 1931 — September 27, 2017

Betty Ann Tomesch, 86, of Duluth, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at home.  She was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin July 28, 1931 to James and Bessie (Langdon) Sweet. Betty had worked as a cook for BlackBear Casino.  She and her husband Bruno had owned and operated Bruno’s Old World Foods, and Murphy’s Bar & Restaurant.  Betty served as a senior regent for Moose Lodge 505, and she was a member of the All American Club Auxillary.  She attended St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.  Betty loved caring for and supporting her grandchildren in everything they did.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son William James, five brothers and two sisters.

Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years Bruno; her children:  Hazel (Roger) Mosiniak, Warren (Jeannie) Jack, Alice Gibson, Bruno (Dana), Katerina (Ricky) Anderson, Hope (Brian) Doerner; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren’ her sisters Mary and Shirley; numerous nieces, nephew, family and friends.

Visitation:  5-7pm Monday, October 2, 2017 at Dougherty Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue Tuesday from 9am until the 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic church, 325 E. Third St.  Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St., Duluth, 218-727-3555.
