Bret C. Johnson, age 53 died on November 10, 2021, with his family by his side in Duluth MN, (formerly Alexandria, MN and Wayzata, MN). Bret was born on May 11, 1968, in Minneapolis, MN to Holly Holmes and Richard “Dick” Johnson. Bret graduated from Chaska High School in 1986 and then went to study at Alexandria Technical College. Bret owned WIJD.Biz (What is Jesus Doing); worked for The Lord, Super One and Opportunity Enterprises. Bret was a member of The Church in the Pines and the Living Word Christian Center. Bret loved Jesus, his wife, family and friends, he was loving, caring, a passionate husband, father, brother, dad, G-pa and friend. He was happy, funny, dedicated, and hardworking. He loved to collect agates and share his love for Jesus with everyone he met. He would lay down his life for his brothers, sisters, family and friends…anyone. His smile lit up a room. He was preceded in death by his father Dick Johnson, Johnny Holmes, Campbell Johnson and his granddaughter La ’Veya Heinonen. Bret is survived by his wife of 7 years, Crystal (Heinonen) Johnson; children Amanda Joy, Katrien Johnson, Jasmine White, Hailey Carlson, Lathen Heinonen and Sydney Mae; sisters, Jennifer Johnson and Amy Holmes; 4 grandchildren; aunt Mary Johnson; mother-in-law Arlene Heinonen; friends Drew Peterson, Gerald Edwards, and David Beliveau and many extended family and friends. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021at 1:00pm at The Church in the Pines, 3992 Hwy 27N, Alexandria MN 56308, 320-760-6190.
