Calvin "Cab" Thibault

Calvin P. “Cab” Thibault, 91 of Duluth died Thursday, Nov. 28 ^th at his home, with his family by his side.  Cab was born Feb. 20, 1928 in Duluth to Romuald and Catherine Thibault.  He left school after the 7 ^th grade to work and he joined the Navy at the age of 17, serving in the Pacific Theatre.  After the war, Cab returned to Duluth and married Beatrice Jackson on Nov. 13, 1948.  They raised their seven children on the farm on the W Beyer Rd.  He was a proud union electrician, working mostly on power lines.  Cab was a member of the American Legion, VFW, IBEW #242, where he served as president for 9 years. He enjoyed raising his family, working and trapping. He was preceded in death by his parents, Romuald and Catherine; siblings, Webb, Doris, Rom, Irene, Jack, Dick and Alice; his first wife Beatrice in 1990 and his second wife, Shirley Wiken, whom he married in 1992 until her death in 2006.

Cab is survived by his children, Joe (Kathy), Kathy (Dan) Croke, Stephen (Nancy), Terry (Terry) Carl, Carole (Dennis) Clark, Beth (Dave) McCuskey and Peter (Angie);

Siblings, David (Carol) and Bette Peshut; grandchildren, Paul, Brad, Zachary, Joleen, Jeremy, Brook, Seth, Luke, Jacob, Marina, Kyle, Erik, Kathryn, Max and Aidan; great grandchildren, Marissa, Tristan, Mallory, Tye, Wyatt, Grant, Beau, Hannah, Audrey, Dyson, Samantha, Connor ,Ellery, Midnyte, Olivia, Sephrya, Waylon, Atticus, Brynn and Kip and his great great granddaughter, Klaire.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 6 ^th from 5-7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 10am to the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Church, 4230 St. John’s Ave, Duluth, MN.  Burial with military honors accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the IBEW #242’s Emergency Family Fund, 2002 London Rd.
