Carmen was a member of the former St. Peters church; she enjoyed politics, having ran for the St. Louis Co. Board; she was a Canosia Twp Supervisor since 1981, where she was instrumental in getting millions of dollars in loans and grants for many projects including the sewer system at Pike Lake. She was honored by having the public access road at Pike Lake named Carmens Way. Her life was based on service to others, her love of family and she was forceful in making sure that everyone knew how important the relationships in family were. She always stayed in contact with her family in Italy and throughout the United States. Carmen and Eddie had wonderful times with their neighbors and enjoyed many pontoon rides around Pike Lake on Carmens Barge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas, Angeline and Nellie; brothers, Frank Amendola Sr. and Eddie Lanaro; sisters, Mary Dollie Michelizzi and Dorothy Jeanetta and her husband Ed in 2009.
