Carol Anderson

Carol Jean Anderson, 70, of Solway Twp, formerly of Duluth Heights, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. Mary's Essentia, surround by her family. Carol was born June 16, 1944 in Duluth to Carl and Inga Sodergren. She graduated from Duluth Denfeld and married James "Jim" Anderson on November 10, 1962. Carol worked for many years at Glass Block/Yonkers as a sales clerk. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Duluth Heights, being a member and past president of its woman's guild; she also served on several diocesan councils. She was also a member of the Duluth Superior Rosemaling Society, T.O.P.S and the Duluth Heights Community Club and was active in its fund raisers and pancake feeds. Carol and Jim enjoyed gardening and were members of the Master Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Inga.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Damon (Brenda) Anderson; daughter, Pamela (Greg) Knight; sister, Darlene (Tom) Schloeder; a granddaughter; 2 nieces, 1 nephew, numerous great nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at St. Mary's for their loving care of Carol.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm with wake prayers at 6:30pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday, from 10am to the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 151 E Linden St. Duluth. Burial at Solway TWP Cemetery.
