Carol Baumgartner

Carol Jean Baumgartner, 84, of Duluth, MN. died Monday, August 31, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center from the relentless COVID-19 virus.  She was born May 24, 1936 in Duluth to Andrew and Elsie (Johnson) Muccilli.  Carol was a member of First Lutheran Church.  She worked for over 30 years at Duluth’s ISD 709 in accounts payable.

She loved her dogs & cats, knitting, sewing, gardening, bingo, rummage sales, watching the squirrels & birds, and making her famous cinnamon rolls, but most of all her life was devoted to her children. She was the most loving, caring, thoughtful woman and mother that anyone could have asked for.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Andrew & Elsie, brother Andy, nephew Ronald and son Jamey. Carol will be forever missed by her 4 surviving children: Shirley (Marvin) Kortekaas, Laurie (Jerry) Dietz, Terry Baumgartner, Randy Baumgartner, brother Ron, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and everyone’s heart that she touched.

VISITATION:  Friday, September 11, 2020 from 11 AM until the 12 PM  FUNERAL SERVICE at Dougherty Funeral Home. FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery with refreshments following at Rice Lake City Park 4137 Stockholm Rd. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E.
