Johnson
Carol L. Johnson, of W Redwing, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Essentia St. Mary's after a brief illness with her family by her side. Carol was born March 27, 1937 in Duluth to Frank and Cecelia Mae Johnson. She graduated from Central High School in 1955 and received her LPN degree from the Duluth VoTech. Carol retired in 2000 after 27 years at the Burn Unit at Miller Dwan. She was a foster mother, specializing in special needs infants for many years.
She was a member of St. John's Church, its rosary society and helped serve many funeral lunches. She loved to knit, travel and spend time with her family.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cecelia.
She is survived by her children, Cindy (Eddie) Chuhanic of Aitkin, MN, Deb Janke, Johnson Creek, WI, Dale (Louanne) Johnson of Duluth and Dean (JoMarie) Johnson of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Eric Chuhanic, Sara (Derek) Falkiewicz, Michelle Janke, David Johnson, Jeremiah and Joshua Johnson, Zachary (Molly) Johnson, Marie (Mark) Bergen, Samuel Johnson, Charlie Johnson; two great grandchildren, Solomon and Brayden; siblings, Frank (Loretta) Johnson, Jr. and Barb MacMillan, and her companion, Bob Nordland.
Visitation Monday from 5-7pm with Wake Prayers at 6:30pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Tuesday at St. John's Church, 4230 St. John's Ave. Duluth. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth. (218) 727-3555.
