Carol Udd

Carol A. Udd, 80, of Duluth passed away peacefully with family by her side Saturday, January 30, 2021.  Carol was born in Duluth, on July 25, 1940 to Larry and Barb Oman.

Carol graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Dave, on August 5, 1961. Carol graduated from the University of MN Duluth with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and taught 1st grade at Pike Lake Elementary before starting a family in 1966. Carol spent a great deal of time volunteering in the PTA and reached the level of State President. She also spent many hours working the concession stand at Duluth Heights hockey, she was the treasurer for the Italian American Club Women’s Auxiliary and an election judge for several years. Carol worked in the springtime at Cummings Greenhouse for 25+ years. Her fondest memories were spending time with her grandkids watching all of their activities. She was their biggest fan and spoiled them rotten. Sunday dinners and her baking abilities were priceless to us all.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dave; parents Larry and Barb Oman; and brothers, Bob Oman and Don Oman.

Carol is survived by children, Barb (Rick) Friedman, Scott, Mark (Tammy), Jeff (Marina); grandchildren, Kyle, Shawn, Eric, Ryan, Aaron, Lauren, Nolan, Alex, Dawson, Joe, Gina, and Vinny; brothers, Frank (Pam), David (Sherri); and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family would like to thank Ecumen Lakeshore and Essentia Health Cancer Center for their care and compassion.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Friday, February 5, 2021, with a private visitation one-half hour prior in St Joseph’s Church 151 W Linden St, Duluth, MN 55811. Due to Covid restrictions, limited seating will be available for the service. The service will also be Livestreamed at 11AM on the Dougherty Funeral Home Facebook Page.
