Carolyn Korby

Carolyn Joyce (St. Marie) Korby, 87, born March 1, 1930 to Albert and Theresa St. Marie, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2018 in Webster, WI. Carolyn lived in Duluth, MN for over 84 years where she attended Duluth Central High School and the Duluth Area Institute of Technology. She married LeRoy Korby April 26, 1947, and lived and raised her family in Rice Lake Township for over 50 years. Carolyn was an LPN and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital. Carolyn enjoyed puzzles and reading, loved the outdoors, wildlife, and spending time at their family cabin on Boulder Lake.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy; son Stephen brothers, Eugene, Kenneth; and sister, Harriet Magariner.

She is survived by daughters, Carol Battleson of Houston, TX, Louise Evans of Porter, TX, and Debora (Gene) Edberg of Spooner, WI; grandchildren, Dale (Bobbi) Edberg, Melissa Northwood, Tara (Robert) Widner, Lorie Machart, Stephen McKeon, Shawn Evans, and 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Adeline St. Marie; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be 11AM, Saturday, February 24, 2018, with visitation one-hour prior, in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd Street, Duluth, MN, 55805. Burial will be held privately at the Polish Catholic Cemetery.
