Carolyn Vekich

Carolyn B. Vekich, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Duluth, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth. Carolyn was born November 9, 1933 in Duluth to Anne and Peter Vekich. She graduated from Cathedral High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Phoenix, where Carolyn retired as a Surgical RN after many years of service. She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church here in Duluth and she enjoyed golfing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Peter and sisters, Rose Vekich and Sr. Peter Damien Vekich
Carolyn is survived by her close friends, Dan and Carole Tschida and their family and cousins, Ray (Marilyn) Gockowski and John (Dorothy) Gockowski and their family.
Visitation will begin Friday at 9:30am and continue until the 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 325 E 3rd St. Duluth. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, 55805, (218) 727-3555.
