Braafladt
Charles "Chad" Trudelle Braafladt, 53 of Duluth died Thursday, January 23, 2013 at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by his family and friends after a battle with brain cancer that he faced with dignity and grace. Chad was born January 14, 1961 in Duluth to Carl and Mary Ellen Braafladt. He was a graduate of Duluth East and St. Scholastica in 1985 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Chad worked for Zenith Management for several years before starting CP Internet now known as CP Telecom and the Superior Treatment Center. He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary; served on the board of Marshall School and the College of St. Scholastica. Chad loved fishing and boating on Lake Superior. Chad's greatest love was for his children.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen.
Chad is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Katarina, Alexander, Signe, Luke and Lily. His father, Carl; siblings, Louis (Anita), Keith (Debra) and Laura (Steve Bell) Braafladt.
Visitation will be Friday with a Wake Prayer at 5pm and visitation continuing till 7pm at the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 12 noon to the 1pm Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E 4th St. Duluth. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
