Charles Francis “Chuck” Hyndman, age 84, of Duluth, died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Viewcrest Health Center. He was born April 9, 1935 in New York, New York to Charles Brown Hyndman and Margaret (McGinnity) Hyndman. Chuck married Susan Irene Staes on June 14, 1969 in Moline, ILL. Chuck had been a member at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary where he sang in the choir for many years. He was currently a member of St. Michael’s Catholic church.
Chuck held clinical psychologist positions in Jacksonville and Quincy, IL; Garden City, KS; and Hibbing, MN. He enjoyed attending the Peace and Justice lectures at the College of St. Scholastica, and listening to “Democracy Now” on KUMD. He was an avid reader.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Patrick. He is survived by his wife Susan; son Kevin (Tammy) of Hugo, Minn.; daughter Jenifer Hyndman of Duluth; grandson Tyler; and a special cousin Sister Mary Dempsey, OP of Bronx, New York. The family would like to give special thanks to the St. Luke’s Community Care team and the nursing staff on the Green Valley Unit at Viewcrest for the care they provided during Chuck’s illness.
