Charlotte Ecklund

Charlotte M. Ecklund, 90, formerly of Twig, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at St. Luke’s, with her family by her side.  Charlotte was born January 6, 1928 in Cloquet to Mary (John) and Ernest Weiner and she graduated from Cloquet High School.  She met Clarence Ecklund and they were married on June 14, 1948.  She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Twig and its LCW.  She enjoyed Civic Club, Birthday Club, Knitting Club, Birchwood Snowmobile Club; bowling at Skyline Lanes, but most of all, Charlotte loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence in 2004 and her sister, Rose Fagre.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Randy (Jane) Ecklund, Susan (Lee) Hieb and Scott (Stacy) Ecklund.  Grandchildren, Eric (Pam), Randi (Matt), Brandon (Hope), Adam (Brittany), Jenna (Nathan), Casie (Travis), Lindsey, Ian (Leah) and Shilyn.  Great grandchildren, Logan, Megan, Zachary, Addison, Beatrix and Charlotte.  Her sister, Diane Waksdahl and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s fourth floor and Hospice for their loving care of Mom.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth.  Visitation will continue Saturday from 10am to the 11am services at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6537 Industrial Rd., Saginaw, MN.  Memorials are preferred and may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or St. Luke’s Hospice, 915 E 1 ^st St.  Duluth, MN  55805.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2 ^nd St. Duluth, MN, (218) 727-3555.
