Christina Charlotta Connell, 89 of Duluth died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family who cared for their mom so she could stay in the home she loved.
She was born April 22, 1926 in Montreal, Wisconsin to Angelo and Elizabeth Rota, and graduated from Hurley High School in Hurley, Wisconsin in
1 944. Chris came to Duluth that summer after graduating high school
to start in the Cadet Nursing School at Saint Scholastica College in Duluth, MN and in 1948 she graduated with a BS in Biology and became a registered nurse Duluth, MN working at St. Mary's and the Benedictine Health Center throughout her career.
Married (Pat) Owen James Connell on February 26, 1949.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. Chris Lived her entire adult life in Duluth and when she was not working or raising a family she would love to read, take care of grand kids, crochet, followed the news, and work in the yard.
Chris was married for 36 years to Owen until his untimely death in November 1985. She became very independent woman and was also good at taking care of her personal business lived in her own home until she passed.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she greatly loved.

Michael (Dede) Connell Madison, WI and step son Even; daughter, Christine (Lou) Campbell of Duluth and their children, Annie, Hannah (Dustin) and Lucas, Anne's child, Marcus and Hannah's child, Gibson; son, Doug (Linda) Connell of St. Cloud and their children, Megan (John) Dockendorf and Megan and John's child, Adele; daughter, Ann Crowl and her child, Caitlin; sisters, Mary Erickson of Duluth and Margaret Curley of CA.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday from 10am to the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E 4th St. Duluth. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
