Claire Jean Higgins, 68 of Duluth died, on Monday, September 24, 2012 in the Solvay Hospice House with her family by her side.
Claire was born on Feb. 1, 1944 in Duluth to Paul and Bernice Jacobs. She was employed with Oneida Realty for several years.
Claire was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening. She looked forward to her visits to Texas, spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Her passion was her family always making sure they never went without.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sherry Higgins.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Butch) Solis of Schertz, TX; her grandchildren, Seth Love of Duluth; Casey Solis of Schertz, TX; her sisters, Joanne (Jim) Loukes of Duluth; Claudia Godfrey of Superior, WI; Patricia Pohlman of Duluth and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 in the Dougherty Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral in the chapel.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
