Claire Linnell

Claire Jane Linnell (Sundland), 80, of Duluth continued her journey on the 29th of May, 2017 surrounded by her immediate family at her home in Burnsville, MN.

Claire joined this world on the 8th of December, 1936 to Ben and Ruth Sundland of Duluth, attended St. Mary's Hall, and after graduation attended, University Minnesota of Duluth. She wed her life-long friend, Craig Oliver Linnell, on March 21, 1959. Claire's passion was her three children; she raised and loved them - Shelly Rae Linnell, Kelly Craig Linnell and David Ben Linnell.

Claire's life's work was to help others. She involved herself in PTA, We Care, First Spiritualist Church, Hockey, Boy and Girl Scouts, to name a few of the many in which she thrived. She excelled in areas of psychology, theology, spiritualism, shamanism, and healing practices.

Claire is preceded by her parents, Ben and Ruth Sundland; husband, Dr. Craig Linnell; and brother, Richard Sundland. She is survived by her children, Shelly Rae Linnell  (Marc Ondrechen), Kelly and David Linnell; sister-in-law, Mary Sundland; nieces and nephews, Terrie Sundland, Debbie Juten, Patti Hansen, Stacie Juten, Rick Sundland, and Steve Sundland; along with numerous extended family and dear friends.

Celebration of life will be Saturday, June 3rd, 2017, at 3:00 PM with a visitation one-hour-prior at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East 2nd St., Duluth, MN. Interment following the celebration at Park Hill Cemetery, 2500 Vermilion Rd., Duluth, MN. Local arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.
