Clarence N. Stepan, 90, of Duluth, passed away on July 24, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Buckman, MN on May 24, 1925 to Albert and Mary Stepan. Clarence was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 24 years of service. Clarence was a past member of the Harbormasters, the Duluth chapter of the Barber Shop society. He especially loved traveling and took pride in having visited every state except Hawaii. He also enjoyed woodworking, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and keeping up with his large family. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who cared for Clarence, in particular the staffs at Golden Oaks and St Luke's.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Jean and Alma, and brothers Ozzie and Larry.
He is survived by his children Joe (Candy) Stepan of Louisville, CO, Mary (Jeff) Rodvold of Hermantown, MN, Paul (Karen) Stepan of Houston, TX, Mark Stepan of Clearwater, MN, Chris Imgrund of Plymouth, MN, David (Darnell) Stepan of St. Anthony, MN, Robert (Betsy) Gaida of Duluth, step-daughter Maggie Ziegler of Roseville, MN, 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Mary Jo (Ralph) DiMattia of Wichita, KS, and Dolores (Dick) Gaida of Fairfield Bay, AR, and his brother Ferdie (Evelyn) Stepan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 10 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. John's Church. 4230 St. John's Ave. Duluth, MN 55803. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
