Clarice Elaine Petersen

Clarice Elaine Petersen, 42 of Duluth, Minnesota passed away on May 18, 2022, in her home after a long and painful struggle with addiction. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Clarice was a 1998 graduate of Duluth East High School and attended Normandale College in Bloomington, Minnesota and Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota.

She enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader and gardener as well as a talented and creative jewelry artist.  She repurposed costume jewelry into new and fun pieces.  Her smile could light up a room and she's gone from us too soon.  

Clarice is preceded in death by her significant other, Shane Keup.  She is survived by her parents, David A Petersen and Jane Carr; sister, Madeline Petersen; and daughters, Payton Horacek and Emilia Watt. 

The Funeral Mass will be 11AM June 15, 2022, with visitation one hour prior at St Michaels Church, 4901 E Superior St, Duluth, MN 55804, followed by a celebration of life.

Her family's wish and hope is that Clarice is surrounded by loved ones and has found peace.  Addiction has crushed the dreams and aspirations of so many in our community and Clarice's story should not be ignored.

In lieu of flowers her family asks that donations be sent in her name to Safe Haven women's shelter in Duluth Minnesota.
