Clifford Solem

Clifford H. Solem, 85 of Duluth, died Sunday, April 5, 2020 in his home. Cliff was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Duluth to Henry and Astrid Solem.  He was a farmer, truck driver in the mines, mechanic, inventor, fabricator and owner of Cliff Solem and Son’s.  He married Mary Lou Abrahamson on December 1, 1956.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Gnesen; family and working were his passion.  He also enjoyed dancing, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, fishing; he loved tinkering and was very proud of the house he built.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Astrid; brothers, Martin and Donald; sister, Violet Simek and infant great grandson, Grant Henry Solem.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; children, Jeffery (Nancy) Solem, Phillip Solem, Nina (John) Sharp, Nancy Solem, Mitchel Solem and Angela Solem.  Grandchildren, Phillip Solem, Eric Solem, Amber (Manual) Mendoza, Paul Solem, Steven Johnson, David Johnson, Joshua (Sandra) Solem, Annette (Allen) Beckman, Nicole Willis, Zachary Kiser, Mary Kiser and Abigail (JD) Ramirez.  Great grandchildren, Nathanial, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Anna, Cody, Megan, Selah, Lasha, Zachary, Eva, Victor, Mason, Ali, Kora and Olivander.  Siblings, David (Danella) Solem, Eileen (Lloyd) Tapa and Hazel Larson. And many nephews and nieces

Private services and burial were held.  Public services will be held when its safe.
