Connie Carl

May 20, 1936 — August 11, 2020

Connie Carl, 84, Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully with her husband Ed and sons Tim, Dan and Jared by her side in the Ocala Florida Trauma Center on August 11th, 2020 due to a brain bleed.  She had just celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary with her husband Ed on July 23rd.  Connie and Ed were originally from Duluth where she worked as an executive secretary at UMD in the Placement Department and retired in 1998 when they moved to The Villages Florida Retirement Community where she spent the last 21 years with her husband Ed.  She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Ruth Van Reese, sisters Judy (Ken) Lawlor and Cindy (Robert) Stafne, and grandson Joey Carl.  Connie is survived by her husband Ed of 65 years, three sons, Tony, Tim and Dan, and six grandchildren:  Lauren Ann Bennett, Jared (Tim and Jill) Rachael (Tony and Jeanette) Kylee, Kacie, Cole (Dan and Kim);   and sister Karen (Laverne) Bail. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Connie Carl’s name has been set up.  Donations to St. Jude Children Research Hospital would be appreciated.

PRIVATE MEMORIAL SERVICES will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 26th. at Dougherty Funeral Home (FACIAL MASKS REQUIRED), If you plan to attend, you MUST call 352-250-4882 to make sure you will have a quarantined seat. Due to the COVID 19, seating is limited and by invitation ONLY.  Followed immediately after with the committal service at Calvary Cemetery, 4820 Howard Gnesen Rd., all are welcomed to   come to the committal service at Calvary Cemetery.    Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd.
