Corrine Donfris, 89, of Duluth MN passed away peacefully on May 6. She was born in Ironwood MI, the daughter of Lester and Lottie Rose. She attended DBU and graduated with a degree in Business Administration and prior to her marriage worked in her father's businesses as a bookkeeper. As a homemaker, she was a devoted wife, wonderful mother. She was an excellent cook and even better baker, carrying on the traditions of her father. She led by example instilling in her family the importance of truth, integrity, character and purpose. Her many joys were spending time with her family and celebrating the achievements of her children, reading biographies, enjoying the beauty of nature especially fir and birch trees, listening to songs by Judy Garland, watching movies that featured Susan Hayward, and enjoying her beloved Bichon Frise, Benji. She was a member of Saint James Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James Donfris; her parents; brother, Eugene; and sister, Mary Ann.
She is survived by her children, Don (Brenda) of Indio CA, Barbara (Arthur Jr) Didrikson of Eden Prairie MN, and Michael (Michelle) of Southlake TX; grandchildren, Paul, Jason, Zachary, Carissa, Nicholas, and Jacob; five great grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Rose.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Birch Unit at Chris Jensen's Health Center for their care and kindness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM, Thursday, May 17, 2018, with visitation One-hour prior in St. James Catholic Church, 715 N 57th Ave W, Duluth, MN 55807.
