Dagmar Sternal

Dagmar H. Sternal, 94, formerly of Crosley Avenue died Friday March 3, 2017 in Bayshore Health Center.  She was born on December 15, 1922 in Mabel, MN to Thoralf and Dagney Holmsen.  Dagmar was a Duluth resident since 1936 and married Leonard E. Sternal in Duluth.  She was a bank officer for 33 1/2 years at First Bank until her retirement on March 31st, 1988.

Dagmar was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Norsemen Federation and very active throughout the years in Business Professional Women and Zonta International.  For many years, Dagmar and Leonard enjoyed spending time with friends at the golf courses in Duluth and Arizona.

Dagmar was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Marie, brother Grant, and sister-in-law Florence H. Sternal.

Dagmar is survived by nephew Art (Kay) Amundson, nieces Anita (Doc) Cadwell and Norma Dolan, and special friends Irene Fjosne and Mary Thorene.

Dagmar’s family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Bayshore and St. Ann’s residence for the kind and compassionate care Dagmar received.
