July 7, 1964 — November 30, 2024

Duluth

Daniel Dee Egley was born to Glen Wayne Egley and Velma Doreen (Jeffery) Egley on July 7, 1964. He was married to Beverly Diane (Trivette) Egley on May 30, 1987. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Leon Earl Egley, June 2000, and his niece Hollie Rose Trivette Webb, May 2003.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Roy Egley (Kaitlyn), three grandchildren: Sage, Koda and Ramona. He is also survived by three brothers: Glen Wayne Egley (Diana), Ernest James Egley (Tracy) and Darryl Lee Egley (Miriam) along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Dan served on the ministry team at Liberty Life Church in Sedalia, MO. He was able to lead others to a new life of Freedom in Jesus Christ. After completing his master’s program, he became an instructor at UMD in 2014. This fulfilled a life-long dream of teaching. His goal was to teach his students their value and to use their voice along with the basic rubrics of Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication. Dan often used examples from his life in his teaching. He lived a very open life in hopes that others could learn from the many experiences he had. In January of 2022, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He continued to teach and inspire others through this journey until November 2024. His faith grew exponentially in his last 2 years of life. He wanted to make sure that people knew God is real, His love is real, and he is now with Father God in Heaven.

Dan loved to have fun. He learned to turn the hard situations around and find the blessings behind them. He always carried numbers in his pockets to play a guessing game with anyone that might need a laugh. He engaged with EVERYONE. He loved life!

A celebration of life will be held in Duluth, MN, in January. Details to be announced later.

Memorials can be sent to the family to help with medical bills and expenses.
