Daniel Ralidak

Daniel Peter Ralidak, 78, of Meadowlands, died Saturday, July 17, 2021 at home after an 18 month battle with Mesothelioma.  He was born October 25, 1942 in Duluth to Peter P. and Margaret M. (Ringhofer) Ralidak.  Dan was a 1960 graduate of Toivola-Meadowlands High School.  He was a member of IBEW 242, and the Minnesota Air National Guard 148th.  After retirement Dan started Ralidak Tree Farm and spent many years growing and caring for the perfect Christmas tree.  He always enjoyed when Christmas season came so he could visit with the customers who came back year after year.  His son Joe will now carry on the tradition. Dan was predeceased by his parents, brother James and sister Bobbi Jo.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kristine; his son Joseph (Maura Riley); his daughters Kimberly Ralidak and Corrina (Craig) Maly; his grandchildren:  Matt, Landon, Colton, Madilyn, Keira and Keagan; his sisters Carol (Jerry) Maly and Mary (Don) Maly; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dan looked forward to all the family and friends’ visits during his illness.  Thanks to all of you.  Appreciation to Dr. Daniel Nikcevich of Essentia Health Oncology for his compassionate caring ways which included visits and phone calls.  Also, to nurse navigator Julie Fulton of Essentia Health Oncology for her weekly phone calls to check in on Dan.  Following Dan’s wishes there will be no funeral.  A family burial will take place at a later date.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 218-7273555.
