David J Ankarlo

David J. Ankarlo, 82 of Hermantown, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 12, 2023, surrounded by his family.  Dave was born in Hammond, IN, August 4, 1940, to David and Anne Ankarlo.

Dave was a hard worker, and worked many jobs, until the age of 78.  He was a millwright, a welder, and worked on a loader in a gravel pit. He was really a jack of all trades.  Dave would drop what he was doing to help anyone who needed anything with always a smile on his face.

He enjoyed, hunting and fishing, trips to Canada, and most importantly he loved to spend time with his family and friends, including going to all his grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

 Dave was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Jerry, Larry, Ray, Janet, Fern, and infant sister, Geraldine.

He is survived by loving wife, Claudia; children, Steve (Kim), and Kimberly (John) Wherley; grandchildren, Karley (John), Kash (Holly), and Kayla (Ben); great grandchildren, Lillee, Paisley, Sophia, Macy, Brixtin, Bowdey, Duke and Cruz; siblings, Bud (Connie), Joanne, and Kathleen (Chuck); numerous, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 3PM, Saturday, May 20, 2023, with visitation one hour prior, in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2^nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805.
