Debra Branley

Debra Joan Branley, 64 of Duluth, died Monday, January 22, 2108 in her home.  Debra was born September 17, 1953 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to John and Teresa Branley.

I would like to say a few things about my sister Deb, she was the oldest of five of siblings. I have known her all my life but did get closer to her in the past four years. I just learned since her passing how involved she was in her community, and how many people’s lives she had touched. Deb had many accomplishments’ including a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She had many talents one of which was a book she had published and was very proud of. She was a great artist, a collector of many things, and had musical talents. She volunteered at a children’s school in which she spoke highly of and it brought her great joy.  She has a wit that she and I would share on the phone and I loved to hear her laugh. She always worried about other people more than herself. Her family was her cats and she loved them dearly, I am thankful for her good friend Tracey who has taken care of them. Deb will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and people in her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Teresa and her siblings, Pam Gamache, Jody Berry and John Branley.

Debra is survived by her sister, Brenda Ruzic and her nephews, Jeremy Ruzic and Daniel (Brenda) Gamache.

Visitation will begin Wednesday from 10am to the 11am services in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, MN (218) 727-3555.
