Delores “Dodo” M. Cheslak, 91 of Duluth, died Thursday, just seven days shy of her 92nd birthday at the Franciscan Home with her family by her side. Dodo was born July 30, 1928 in Duluth to Zygmunt and Josephine Cieslukowski. She was the eleventh born of the eleven kids. She graduated from Cathedral High School and retired from the Sea Farers International Union, where she was the secretary. Dodo was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was very active in their Fall Bazaar. She enjoyed golfing, belonging to the Enger Park Women’s Tuesday Evening golf league and the Businesswomen’s Bowling League.
She loved going to the Casino with her sister, Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Clara (Jack) Wagner, Genevieve (Joe) Kolojeski, Ceil Cheslak, Josephine Cheslak, Rose (Leonard) Bonifaci, Sr. Anne Marie Cheslak OSB, Liz (George) Lukovsky, Stanley, Joseph and William (Mary) Cheslak. Nephew, Dean Kolojeski and Niece, Josephine Sjodin.
Dodo is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol (Jan) Bort, Julie Kolojeski, Joan Nelson, John (Stacia) Bonifaci, Mary Jo Bonifaci, Elizabeth (Scott) MacInnes, William (Mona) Cheslak, Tim (Karen) Cheslak, Denise (Stu) Stenberg, Sue (Wes) Fredrickson. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 29th at 11am at Calvary Cemetery, 4820 Howard Gnesen Rd., Duluth, MN. Arrangements by Dougherty, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, MN, (218) 727-3555.
