Dennis Marciniak

Dennis George Marciniak, 79, of Duluth died Thursday, March 13, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Dennis was born to Stephen and Alice Marciniak in Duluth on November 25, 1934.

Dennis was a lifelong Duluth native where he met and married Doreen Dane in 1961. He worked as a Plumber and was a member of Local 11, retiring in 1996. He was also a member of Peace Church. Dennis was known as “Digger” at his cabin on the Marshall Trail, where he loved to hunt and snowmobile. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. He was a longtime bowler and played softball in the Woodland Fast Pitch League. Dennis always had a “story” to tell, was a devoted “Papa”, and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Charles; and sister, Alice Cornwell.

Dennis is survived by loving wife, Doreen; sons, Joseph (Dana) Marciniak, Duluth, and Steve, Minneapolis; daughter, Dana Dallum (Jerry Heizler), Duluth; grandson, Derek Dallum, Duluth; sister, Betty Ahrendt, Duluth; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 3-5 PM at the Dougherty Funeral Home, visitation will continue on Monday from 10 AM until the start of the service beginning at 11 AM at Peace Church, 1111 N 11th Ave E Duluth, MN 55805.
