Dennis Dean Shimek, 62 of Proctor, died Tuesday, February 18th, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
Dennis was born June 22nd, 1952, in Manitowoc,WI. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1975. He was a contractor for most of his life and could build anything with his two hands. He loved to fish, play cards, and most of all, spend time at "the lake". All who knew him knows what a special man he was.
Survivors include a son, Chad Shimek of Scottsdale, AZ; a son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Lindsay Shimek of South Range; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Chris Killoran of Pardeeville, WI; a sister, Marilyn Peterman of Manitowoc, WI; five grandchildren, Cecilia, Jarrett, Aleigha, Taylee and Zackery Dennis (due in June); nieces; nephews; other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angeline Tollefson and his father, Joseph Shimek.
