Dolores Hallfielder

Dolores V. (Nowak) Hallfielder 84, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 25, 2014. Dolores was born in Duluth, on May 13 1930, to Stanley and Stella Luczak.

Dolores attended St. Peter and St. Paul Elementary School, and graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School. She began work at Northern City National Bank, where she met her husband Joseph J. Nowak. Together they had 4 children. After the loss of Joe, she continued working in banking at Duluth National Bank, US Bank, and Republic Bank. In 1977, Dolores married Jack F. Hallfielder. She possessed a love for and wonderful skill of cooking and baking that she shared with all. Dolores was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who taught her children the value of hard work, perseverance, and the love of her faith. Her family was so very important and loved by her.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph J. Nowak and Jack F. Hallfielder; parents; and daughter, Kathleen Joan Maxwell.

Dolores is survived by, children, Susan J. (Scott) Preston, Joseph M. (Mitzi) Nowak, and Jean P. (Steve) L'Abbe; 7 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 2 great-granddaughter; brother, Jim (Joyce) Luczak; numerous, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, August 29, 2014 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, visitation will continue, Saturday from 10 until the start of the service, beginning at 11AM, in the Saint Lawrence Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd, Duluth MN 55811.
