Dolores Ann (Sappa) Jarocki, 85, of Duluth, MN died April 7, 2017, at Ecumen Lakeshore, with her children by her bedside. Dee was born on November 19, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN to John and Victoria Sappa. She grew up in NE Minneapolis, attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Edison High School.
Dee met her dashing airman, love of her life and spouse for over 60 years at the county fair in Thorp, WI in August, 1954. They were married on September 24, 1955. She began married life as an Air Force wife in Lake Geneva, IL. Stationed throughout the U.S. and Europe, Dee and Casey welcomed and raised five children before retiring to Eau Claire, WI and later moving to Duluth, MN.
Dee was devoted to her family as a daughter, wife, mother, aunt, sister and in her favorite role, as a grandmother to twelve grandchildren. For her children, she was a hero, champion and role model, an awesome teacher and guide to them when they were young and a friend and confidant to them when they became adults.
Dee was preceded in death by her husband Casey one year ago. She leaves a loving family to cherish her memory: daughters Jacquelyn (Jack) Holmquist, Janice (Randy) Terry and Julia Jarocki; sons James (Kris) and John (Cindy); and grandchildren Kevin(Lynn), Kirsten(Dave), Casey, Alexander (Brittany), Kimberly (Kalvin), Catherine, MacKenzie, Christopher, Andrew, Riley, Hayley and Elizabeth.
Thank you to Drs. Susan and Kurt Kamper for their professional and personal care, and to St. Luke's Hospice for gentle care during her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Marshall School, Duluth, MN or St. Luke's Hospice.
