Donald Alfonsi

Donald John Alfonsi, 72, of Duluth, passed away on July 3, 2016, after an extended illness.

Donald was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Duluth to Xavier and Loretta (Cascanette) Alfonsi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis and Ted, and his beloved grandmother.

Don is survived by his nephews, Craig Alfonsi, Duluth, MN, Keith Alfonsi, Saint Paul, MN, Tadd Alfonsi, Amarillo, TX, Corey Alfonsi, Topeka, KA; 5 grand nephews and grand nieces; several cousins; and sister-in-law, Karen.  Don was especially grateful for the support and friendship of his cousin Mike Sandstrom.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at September House for their great care, compassion, and friendship shown to Don throughout his stay there.  Also special thanks go to the Essentia Hospice staff and their volunteers.
