Donald “Don” Freimuth, age 92, of Duluth, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. A lifelong Duluth resident, he was born September 12, 1923 to David “Dick” and Reine (Eisenstaedt) Freimuth. Don married Gita Hart on August 13, 1944 in Duluth. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. Don was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue, a charter member of the Optimist Club where he served as a past president, and as Lt. Gov. of the district. He also served on the Committe Advisory Board for WDSE. Don served as a buyer and Vice President of the Freimuth Department Store. He also worked for Arco Coffee, Famous Clothing, Roth Brothers and J. C. Penney. He retired from J. C. Penney.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Gita, and his son-in-law Jay Zinkevcz.
Don is survived by his daughters: Diane (Dick) Gould of Duluth; Louise Zinkevcz of Edina, Minn.; and his son Dick (Kathryn) Freimuth of Maplewood, Minn.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Temple Israel Synagogue, 1602 East Second St. Burial will be at Temple Emanuel Cemetery.
