Doris LaTraille

Doris F. LaTraille 85, of Duluth, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday August 4, 2018 at Solvay Hospice.  She was born in Cloquet on September 17, 1932 to Frank and Hilda Wiita.  Doris worked as a Bookkeeper for Wahl’s Department Store, and she had worked for the Red Cross.  She married Arthur LaTraille on October 17, 1970 in Duluth, MN.  She was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Duluth.  Doris loved to travel, spending time with her children and grandchildren, doing word find puzzles and jig saw puzzles.  The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Solvay Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care that Doris received.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, brother Robert Wiita, and a grandson-in-law Aaron Rustad.

She is survived by her daughter Denise (Rich Rainey) Miller, step-sons Steve (Jackie) LaTraille, and Gary (Lesley) LaTraille, grandchildren Julie (Gary Christner) Rustad, Melanie (Gene) Loughren, Jorel LaTraille, Emma LaTraille, Gareth LaTraille, and Grace LaTraille, 4 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Wilbert Wiita, and sister-in-law Diane Wiita.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 5PM to 7PM in Dougherty Funeral Home.  600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805, and will continue Wednesday August 8, 2018 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in Grace Lutheran Church.  5454 Miller Trunk Highway.  Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.  218-727-3555.
