Dorothy Joan (Pillatzke) Foley, 52, died on October 25, 2017. She was born April 7, 1965 to John and Niki Pillatzke in Minot, ND. She grew up enjoying the wide-open spaces of Anamoose, ND, farm country. Dorothy graduated salutatorian from Anamoose High School in 1983 and went on to pursue a degree in pharmacy from North Dakota State University.
At NDSU she met her future husband, Gary Foley, and they married July 9, 1988, in Fargo, ND. In 1993 she moved to Kalamazoo, MI, and started to work as a pharmaceutical representative for McNeil Pharmaceuticals. Duluth became their beloved new home in 1997, where Dorothy started her extensive involvement in volunteering.
Dorothy’s volunteerism included working at the Tweed Museum, singing in the Cathedral choirs, and teaching catechism for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. She loved to travel and be outdoors in her beautiful, adopted hometown. Dorothy enjoyed walking and playing in Chester Park with her dogs, Chester and Amelia. She loved her Lord and spent many hours in adoration at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea.
