Dorothy Ostrander

Dorothy Patricia Ostrander, 93, of Duluth, died peacefully early evening Monday, October 7th 2013. Dorothy was born in Mankato, MN, on September 29, 1920, to Ben and Hattie Lyons.
Dorothy attended Mankato High school and in 1940 moved to Duluth where she met the love of her life Carl, they were married November 20, 1940. While living in Duluth she worked at the Aftenro Home, Hotel Duluth, St. John's Catholic Church, all while finding time to be a homemaker. She was an active member of her church St. John's; and also belonged to, the All American Club, and the Owls Club.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Carl (1988); her Parents; and 11 Brothers and Sisters.
She is survived by her sons; David (Jan) Ostrander, and Bruce (Rachel) Ostrander, both of Duluth; brother, Richard (Sheila) Lyons of Mankato MN; and hundreds of Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and friends.
Visitation: 5-7PM Rosary at 6:30 Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Visitation continues at 10AM, with the service beginning at 11AM, on Friday October 11, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, 4230 St. Johns Ave.
